Scaffolding Literacy Program

Tanya, lower primary teacher at Parnngurr Community School, working with students during a Scaffolding Literacy lesson.

Like the other Aboriginal Independent Community Schools of Western Australia, Parnngurr is involved in the Scaffolding Literacy Project which fosters the acquisition of English literacy by the students.

Tanya has been involved in the project for some time now and believes that, by being in the project from a young age, her students' skills in English literacy will significantly improve as they progress through the school.
